Welcome to Beautiful Barcelona!

So, where exactly did Ewok go in Barcelona? He went to these five places, and walked about an 18 kilometer (11 mile) round trip in under 8 hours.

This is the Palau National in Catalonia (Barcelona), it is very pretty, and located in Montjuc Park next to the Mediterranean.
Next stop is the Fundicacio Joan Miro. Miro is a very famous surrealist artist, who's work seems to be somewhere between cubism and Dali.

This is a very interesting charcoal. Neither Ewok and I get it though. perhaps we need more culture...
Here is another scuplture. Maybe he was feeling depressed this day.

Here is a room full of large art. We are getting a little arted out.
Ok. This is just strange.

Ewok sits and learns a little about art with a class of kindergartners. Unfortunatley for him, he does not speak a lick of Spanish.
This one is called the Casa de les Punxes, or House of Spikes. It is on the way to La Sagrada Familia.

This is the famous Nativity scene on the East side of La Sagrada Familia, or the Sacred Family cathedral. This is honestly one of the coolest things I have seen. Although mainly designed by Gaudi, another very famous artist of Barcelona, it was neither started nor finished by him. As you can see, it is still under construction. The smaller cathedral is very functional though, and they were even having a service this morning.
You can actually walk all the way up in the towers of this cathedral, and here is what the stairway looks like. It was hard not to trip going round and round in circles like that... especially with those short little Ewok legs.

>Here is a view from the top areas of one of the towers. Whatever you do, don't look down!
Here is a view down the center of one of the towers.

Ok, time to head back down now...
So, is it just me or is the thought of a pig winking at me while holding another pig's disembodied leg a bit unappetizing?

Our next stop is at the Parc Guell, which was entrirely designed by Gaudi. This is the famous dragon at the entrance. Ewok was so hot and tired from the walk up the mountain that he immediately jumped into the fountain after the photo.
At the top of the structure in the last photo, you get a stunning view of all of Barcelona and the Sea. You can also see La Sagrada Familia in the distance.

Next, we head ALL the way down to the other end of town. That's right. We walked from there to the Sea. No wonder we are so fetchin sore. Anyhow, at the complete other end of town next to the water is the Barri Gotic, or Gothic Quarter. It is the best preserved medieval sites in Europe. It actually is quite well preserved, and FULL of tourists, so it is not as impressive if one is into looking at ruins. Anyhow, this is the famous archway. Very Gothic.
Here is a cool looking tower in the Barri Gotic.

Performance art is realy big here. This was the coolest looking one. I did also see a mime, but then I just walked faster in the other direction.
We have made it to the Sea!!! Here is a sculpture at Port Vell, and this was about the coolest thing there. The water and boats really just looked like water and boats anywhere else in the world. Anyhow, that is all there is in Barcelona, thanks for looking!
